Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is very often caused by trigger points in your muscles so the recent episode at Carpal Tunnel Radio answered the following questions:
* What ARE trigger points?
* What do they do?
* What CAUSES trigger points?
When I was making my notes for today’s show, I noticed a relationship between Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and trigger points: All of the things that cause trigger points also cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!
So what causes trigger points?
- abnormal bone structure that you may have been born with
- posture that causes muscle stress (this is a very common cause)
- doing repetitive motions, especially incorrectly
- vitamin & mineral deficiencies or incorrect levels
- thyroid or blood disorders
- stress; allergies and chronic infections.
I know that you don’t have all of those “trigger point triggers” but you may have one or more.
Trigger point therapy can relieve trigger points. Trigger points are widely misunderstood in the massage and medical fields but muscles and trigger points are a major cause of carpal tunnel symptoms.
