Is the pain in your thumb, first two fingers and arm Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? The answer is probably no. It’s a muscle with a trigger point causing your miserable symptoms.
Do your symptoms match the red pain pattern of the picture below? If the answer is YES, you are in luck!
Do you see the X on the picture? That shows a muscle that has a trigger point. That trigger point is the cause of this pain pattern.
X marks the spot that you should seek. It will be tender when you find it.
The muscle is called subclavius. It’s tucked up behind your collar bone. You can get there from the underside of your collar bone. It’s closer to the middle of the bone than the picture shows.
You might actually have a LOT of tenderness in your chest and it’s okay to be aware of all of it.
When you find the trigger point you may notice that it causes the sensations in your painful area to feel a little less or more uncomfortable. That means you have found it! Good job!
Now press on the trigger spot. You can rub around the area and try to stretch it. You can press directly into it.
It will be uncomfortable because it’s tight. By pressing into it, the muscle will be able to relax and soften. That’s what the pressure does–it helps the muscle relax. When it relaxes, your symptoms will go away.
Hold the pressure for ten or twelve seconds. It’s okay to take a break and do it again later.
So there you have it. Now you can get rid of the pain in your thumb, index finger and middle finger naturally.
