Vitamin B6 and Other Supplements for Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief

It’s easy to have a vitamin deficiency or insufficiency (not enough).  Vitamins and minerals are very tiny but very powerful.  When you do not have enough of one or more, it’s possible to have symptoms of that deficiency.

Scurvy and rickets are examples of symptoms that people used to get when they had certain vitamin deficiencies.

Many researchers and people who have suffered from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome claim

that Vitamin B6 (also called pyridoxine) helps get rid of symptoms.

Sometimes the things that we eat actually cause deficiencies.  Some of the chemicals and other “goodies” that are put into manufactured and processed foods destroy certain vitamins.  One of those is FD&C Yellow #5.  And it’s all over the place!  It is called different names, too, but they seem to mostly have 5 in them.

Beats me why it’s allowed.

If you become a label reader you will find it in jars of yellow peppers, pickles, fast food “honey”, fortune cookies, cereal, cookies, candies and more.  It’s also called Yellow #5 or artificial food coloring so it can sneak in lots of ways.

I am a label reader.

That means there are lots of times when I pick up a jar, can or box and end up placing it back on the supermarket shelf.  Why should I take supplements and then eat chemicals that destroy my precious vitamins?

I mentioned yellow peppers in jars.  I love those hot peppers but they have Yellow #5 so what do I do?  I buy the fresh peppers instead.  Sometimes in a health food store you might find the foods you love without the “baddies.”  Even there, though, you still have to read labels.

Update:  Some grocery store yellow peppers have turmeric in them instead of 5, which is good!

Now remember, I’m a reporter.  I cannot tell you how or what to eat but I can share information that has made sense to me.  My goal is to help you get rid of your carpal tunnel symptoms and feel better all over.

Doctors and researchers do not always agree.  Studies about Vitamin B6 come up with different results.  Sometimes a study looks at only one part of a problem (that’s so the study will be “clean”.)

Regardless, Vitamin B6 is important for your health.  There are several B Vitamins and they all act together.  Taking a good B-Complex vitamin from a health food store may be all you need.  Vitamin B6 is available by itself but since the whole B family works together and boosts each other, taking the Complex is a good idea.

Some people don’t like to take supplements so here is a list of foods (<– click here) with the most Vitamin B6.  Most people apparently don’t get enough B6 simply in their diet.

Whether researchers and doctors and others agree does not matter.  What does matter is that you take the steps you need to take to get rid of your carpal tunnel pain.  It’s your body.  You deserve to feel better.
