What’s The Best Exercise For Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief

What’s the best exercise for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?  Hmmm.  That must be a trick question.

The best exercise after you already have symptoms is the same as before you have symptoms.  In other words, you can prevent carpal tunnel pain.

And, you also can heal it.  Naturally!

Yoga is one excellent natural carpal tunnel remedy.  Feldenkrais and Alexander Techniques can also help.

Any movements that use ALL of your muscles will help.

You see, the problem is

we get into pain when we stop using all of our muscles.  We get out of balance.  When you were a child, you used ALL of your muscles.

But, now?

Well, for one reason or another most of us stop using all of our 600+ muscles and end up using only 60 or 70 every day.  Whew!  That’s not many.

No wonder we get pain.

So the muscles on one side of your arm may be tighter than on the other side.  They may be very tender to the touch or to pressure.  They may feel knotted or stringy.

Press them.  Touch them.  Feel them.  Go ahead; it’s okay.  Discover your muscles.

Massage is my very favorite #1 natural therapy for carpal tunnel pain.  Whether the massage is provided by a professional massage therapist or is do-it-yourself, it warms, releases and relaxes the tight muscles.

Massage helps normalize muscles.  A skilled therapist can also help you correct your posture to avoid all kinds of pain, including carpal tunnel pain.

Ideally, massage would be the first treatment and movement, and stretching or exercise comes after the muscles have been released when they are softer and more normal.

You can find articles here in the “Massage Category” that will give you more information about massage.

And even now, while you are reading this, you can start moving your hand and arm into different positions.

Pay attention to how your muscles feel when you move them.

Move into different positions than the ones you usually are in.  Move in the opposite direction.  Open up the muscles in the front of your body and the front of your arms by arching your back and stretching.

Always pay attention to your muscles.  What do you feel?  Is there tightness?  Restriction?  Pain?

By gently and gradually re-introducing new movements to your muscles, you will discover the best exercises for natural carpal tunnel pain relief.
