Carpal Tunnel Syndrome means the nerves that pass through your wrist are being compressed. They are being squeezed because there is not enough space for them.
That’s why doctors offer surgery. They think it’s a good idea to create a little more space by cutting the tough ligament on the palm side of your wrist.
But it’s not that simple.
1. In the first place, the carpal tunnel may NOT be where the problem comes from. In that case, cutting the ligament to make more space inside the wrist won’t help.
2. Hand pain is often mis-diagnosed as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome when, in fact, it’s not. That means carpal tunnel surgery is offered but it won’t help.
3. Muscles and other soft tissues may be the cause of your pain and other symptoms. Muscles are the most common cause of hand pain. Do the muscles in your arm feel tight? That’s a clue! Muscles need to be relaxed, not cut.
4. Weight gain and diabetes are causes of carpal tunnel compression (from swelling in tissues) and weight can be controlled. Diabetes should be controlled, too.
Doctors don’t have faith that people will take care of themselves to get healthy and get rid of symptoms. That is one of the reasons they
offer carpal tunnel surgery.
But I have faith in you. I believe that if you take action you can get rid of your symptoms.
How can you do this?
Start educating yourself. It’s YOUR body and no one cares as much about it as you should. Not even your doctor.
Start taking action. If you need to lose weight, eat real. That’s the easiest diet there is: Real.
If you need to help your muscles get back into neutral so they stop pressing on your nerves, do it.
If you need a self-help carpal tunnel pain relief program, get one. There are a couple of great ones here for you. See the side bar. –>

I have to be honest with you. I LOVE surgeons. If not for the skilled hands of surgeons I would not be writing to you today. I’d be dead. Surgeons do marvelous things.
But lots of times surgery is not the answer. Sometimes education and action is the key to natural carpal tunnel pain relief. Not surgery.
