4 Movement Tips For Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief With The Pain Relief Coach

If you want carpal tunnel pain relief, you need to start doing some things differently.  Change only happens when we…well, change. 🙂

It’s important to make sure you have all the nutrients your body needs, plenty of water and enough sleep but it’s also important to take care of your muscles.

Moving in different ways can make a huge difference, especially if you couple it with massage (which you can do yourself.)

Tip 1.  Throw a soft ball or toss rocks into a lake.  Underhand may be the most comfortable for you.  This movement uses your whole arm and relaxes your shoulders.

Tip 2.  Wring your hands.  Oh dear, oh dear–you might look anxious but

when you rub your hands together with or without lotion, several times a day, you improve your circulation and make your muscles happier.  It’s using your hand and arm muscles in a different way.

Tip 3.  Keep your wrist straight when you have to twist something to open it.  Use your arm as though it’s a lever by moving your elbow closer or farther from your body rather than twisting your wrist.

Tip 4.  Touch one fingertip at a time to your palm.  Do this with each finger and thumb, one at a time.  This increases flexibility, increases circulation, moves tendons and muscles and helps reduce pain.

Whatever positions you usually use, try to do the opposite position at least several times a day.  Get your arms up or back; squeeze your shoulder blades together; stretch one leg out behind you if you sit all day and then the other.

Just do the opposite movements to keep your body happier.

Always respect the limits of your body and notice how you feel when you do any new movements.  Sometimes there is discomfort but it feels like a good stretch or “good pain.”  If it feels inappropriate, back off a bit.  Take it slowly.

Movement is life and it’s important that you do your best to keep your muscles happy.  In fact, you’re the only one who can do it! 🙂
