Hand Pain: Does It Feel Like Your Hand Bones Are Out Of Place

The bones in your hand can become out of place.  This can cause discomfort.  But, here’s the thing:

Bones don’t move on their own.  Muscles move bones.  What does this mean?

You have muscles in your hand and you have muscles and tendons (the tough end of the muscles) in your lower arm that attach to your hand.

When the bones in your hand feel “stuck” or “jammed” or

as though something is just not right, it could be that a muscle is pulling your hand bones out of place.

If you aggravate a muscle and it goes into spasm (gets tight) it can move bones.  That’s what muscles do–they move bones.  That’s how we are able to move.  They are fully able to pull a bone into an uncomfortable position.

So what can you do to help get your bones back into their correct place and get rid of the discomfort?

Try this:

1.  Press into the muscles in your palm.  Explore and see if there are any tight and tender areas.  Don’t only look where the discomfort is–check out your whole palm.

2.  Check out your lower arm all the way from you elbow to your wrist.  Explore and press into every part of your lower arm.

3.  If you find a tender, tight muscle, massage it.  Press into it.  Ice it.  Rub it.  Pinch it.

The idea is to loosen the tight area and increase the circulation.  When it relaxes, your hand bones can move back into their proper position and feel better.

When I managed to “help” a bone in my hand get out of neutral (doing some ‘creative’ stretches), I used this same seek and destroy mission.  When pressing on the muscles in my palm didn’t help I moved on to my arm.  It turned out that the muscle/tendon that was responsible was on the outside of my lower arm and outer edge of my hand.

It’s your body–don’t be afraid to explore and find out what’s going on.  Muscles rule most of your body.  By working with your muscles, you can get rid of your hand pain naturally.
