Does massage help Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? It certainly can!
Have you have had massage for your carpal tunnel symptoms? Has it helped?
You know, because of my background, I am really biased about the value of therapeutic massage. I have both seen and experienced wonderful changes brought about by massage.
I’m not the only one. It turns out that more and more Americans have been taking advantage of massage. And, slowly, more and more doctors are recommending it.
In 2010, over 38% of all adults were using some
form of what is called complementary and alternative medicine, or CAM.
That figure just keeps on going up. Even one out of 9 children were being treated with some type of CAM. 🙂
CAM is called “complementary” because it can be used right along with conventional, or allopathic, medicine (that’s what your doctor does.) It complements conventional medicine. They can work together very well.
But massage is much older than conventional medicine.
Massage is OLD medicine.
Cultures all over the world use massage as medicine and therapy. I’ve heard of techniques being passed down from one generation to the next.
In some countries, doctors are trained in massage and use it to treat their patients. Why? Because it’s cheaper and more effective than many drugs or surgeries.
If you tried therapeutic massage and it didn’t help or it hurt or if you have questions about your massage experience or if you haven’t yet gone to a professional massage therapist because you have questions…
Then please ask me. Let’s talk about your questions. I might have the answer you need. Just leave a comment below (where it says “comments”.)
Sometimes massage is uncomfortable because of tight muscles, but if it’s done properly, it gives such a sense of relief. It just takes so much tension off your central nervous system.
Whew!
It is harder to do your own massage but it’s still helpful. There are articles with directions for do-it-yourself massage under “Categories” here. Just look for the Massage category. You will also find an article about How To Find A Massage Therapist Who Can Help You.
Have a great day and don’t get “rubbed the wrong way!” 🙂 Massage therapy and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? They go hand in hand.
